"The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) protects the public from unreasonable of injury or death from more than 15,000 types of consumer products, including many intended for infants and young children. Sometimes a product that has been on the market is found to be faulty or dangerous. The manufacturer may recall it (invite all purchasers to take or mail it back for a refund or replacement) or provide some gizmo that will make it safer. The CPSCs website is a good source of information about product recalls. Consumers may report product hazards they have identified through a form on the website, their phone number is 800-638-2772" (Bonaro, et al., 2014)
"Consumer Reports, a monthly magazine that does its own research and accepts no advertising, reliably evaluates and rates countless products, including children’s furniture, equipment, and toys. Product recalls are listed in every issue. Interested parents may wish to subscribe, look up relevant articles in the public library, or on the CRO website" (Bonaro, et al., 2014)
